Govt Center installs wind turbines

Government Center in Downtown Toledo is now operating on a new source of energy. The Ohio Building Authority, which owns Government Center, unveiled four new vertical wind turbines. The turbines are located on top of the building. The new wind turbines cost the company about 0000 to install and the payback will take about 15 years. The city is expected to save thousands of dollars in energy costs. “Currently with the 20 kilowatts that we’ll be able to produce between 000-17000 per year,” said Mark Haberman, Ohio Building authority. “So if we can double the capacity which we think we can do technologically, within the next year, year and a half, we’ll be able to save 000 per year.” The turbines have about a 30-year operating life.
